Frequently asked questions about magnetic toys
From what age is magnetic toy play suitable?
Our magnetic tiles are suitable from age 3. The tiles are big, sturdy and easy to grab for small hands.
Which set suits which age?
3 to 5 years. Starting with flat shapes and a first tower. A smaller set is plenty here, such as Road Trip Rally with 24 pieces or Police Patrol HQ with 28. Big tiles, clear shapes, quick results.
5 to 8 years. Building really takes off and a child wants to make a world instead of one house. Sets of 37 to 76 pieces work nicely, such as Princess Paradise, Jungle Journey or Farmyard Frenzy.
8 years and up. Now it becomes engineering. The Marble Adventure Track with 136 pieces is a magnetic marble run where you plan the route yourself, and the Tangram Tactician with 252 pieces is more a puzzle than a building set.
What is a good set for a four year old?
A set of 24 to 32 pieces. Big enough to build a house or a car, small enough to tidy away alone. Road Trip Rally, Police Patrol HQ and Fire Fighters fall into that range.
Are magnetic toys still fun for children aged 8 to 12?
Yes, but with a different angle. From about eight it is about construction and engineering, not stacking alone. The magnetic marble run and the Tangram edition provide that challenge, and adults tend to join in by themselves.
How many tiles do you need to start?
For a first taste, 24 to 30 pieces is enough. From around 50 pieces a child can build a house with floors without running out. If two children play together, count on 70 pieces or more. You can always expand, because all sets fit together.
Can you combine different sets?
Certainly. All Fits4Kids magnetic tiles fit together, and they also combine with tiles from other well known brands.
Magnetic tiles, magnetic blocks or magic tiles: are they the same thing?
Yes. Online you come across magnetic tiles under various names. It is the same toy: flat tiles with magnets in the edges that click together.
What is a magnetic marble run?
It is a set where you use the same tiles to build a track for marbles to roll through. You decide the route yourself, so after every tidy-up it can be different. Our Marble Adventure Track has 136 pieces.
Are magnetic toys safe?
Yes. All sets are EN71 tested and the magnets are firmly enclosed in the tiles, so they cannot come out.
What does my child learn from magnetic tiles?
Building with magnetic tiles trains spatial awareness, fine motor skills and creativity. Children discover shapes, balance and structures while they play, which is STEM learning at its most enjoyable.
How much do magnetic toys cost?
You can see the current prices above, next to each set. What you pay mostly depends on the number of pieces.
When will my order arrive?
Order on a working day and your parcel usually arrives the next day. Shipping is free from €50.
